Portrait of Andrés Burdett
01

Enterprise experience

Andrés Burdett works where entrepreneurship, investment and company-building meet. He and Jamie Dick-Cleland first worked together on the commercial development of uSpeak. There they shared the work of turning a digital learning idea into a business and the decisions that come with growth. Since then Andrés has built a career across venture development, strategy consulting, private-equity-backed growth and business transformation. He is Managing Partner of The Beyond Group and has had active investor relations and international expansion roles at the companies he has invested in.

02

The discipline of consequential decisions

That background matters to NUMBRZ because an ambitious institution needs governance that can support serious work over many years. Andrés brings a commercial view shaped by the practical questions that come with change: how growth is financed, how plans become execution and how leadership keeps sight of performance. In his view, clear decision rights, proportionate checks, firm accountability and careful handling of capital and conflicts let a company move with purpose without mistaking speed for judgement.

03

Independent enquiry, accountable enterprise

Science and Studios have different competencies and must be able to reach different conclusions. Within Science, Andrés helps create the conditions for independent research, proportionate scrutiny and sound treatment of resources and competing interests. In Studios, that governance must also support decisive commercial execution and fair relationships with founders, partners and investors.

04

Corporate Lead

As a co-founder of NUMBRZ, Andrés is responsible for corporate governance. He shapes the conditions in which Science can pursue independent questions and Studios can build strong businesses, and he keeps the group’s discipline and wider interests in view. His role is distinct from scientific or technical leadership. It is to help the company make consequential decisions clearly, responsibly and well.
